CAMPAIGN REVEAL!

30 Oct

Its finally here!

I don’t know if anyone else is as excited about today as I am…I highly doubt it. But regardless, today is the day I’m revealing the premise of my new weekly campaign.

I decided to do a video blog to explain it all. I think this is going to be the easiest way to tell you about my vision for this project!

A few highlights I want to hit before we get started–

Grab the button from my sidebar to paste into your linkups!

Strength in Freedom

Use the hashtag #freEDom on twitter or instagram ALL WEEK! I’ll be retweeting and will feature them on the Tuesday posts!

If you wish to remain anonymous in your submissions, let me know in your email.

Finally, I want to keep this a positve space. Its a place where you can be free to practice radical acceptance of your whole self, but its not a place to put yourself or others down. Its about celebrating our imperfections and shortcomings because they are what make us human and beautiful!

Thanks for all your support! Start sending in your submissions so the first post next week can be awesome!

**Remember! you do NOT have to be a blogger to send in submissions!

xoxo

Have you ever struggled with perfection?

Have you ever experienced the pain keeping a secret in can cause?

What do you most need to get off your chest this week?

Hi Sloane! Just came across your blog from Sam’s and wanted to mention that I really love the idea behind this campaign. I think that being honest and upfront about our struggles and imperfections is one of the most important things when it comes to healing. Like you, I’ve always been really upfront when writing my blog, and I think it not only helped me, but others as well. I understand the whole ‘wanting to keep the blog a positive space’ thing, but I hate it when people project an image of a perfect life because it just makes other people feel bad about their own struggles. Anywho, just wanted to say again… great idea :)

Isn’t Sam awesome?? I’m so glad you like the campaign idea! I can’t wait to get to know you better through blogging! Will check out your page today! Have a great Tuesday!

Firstly THANK YOU for my shoutout. I’m so honored. Secondly I’m so proud of you. This campaign is going to help SO MANY GIRLS and I am definitely mentioning it on the blog today. Your honesty seriously awes me every day (in a good way) and I can’t wait to see what comes of this campaign. Love the new name!

Sloane! This is incredible, such an amazing idea for a campaign. I know that you will be used to impact the lives of MANY people as they find freedom from the pressure society puts on us to be perfect! SO proud of you and excited for where this will lead you! :)

    • sloanepitman October 30, 2012 at 3:42 pm #

Thank you so much! I’m so glad you like the idea! I hope you’ll participate! Have a wonderful day my love!

i have an obsessive/controlling personality to begin with, so i have to be careful to not let my love of nutrition and fitness become unhealthy. i will sometimes get physically panicked if i don’t know the nutritional info of something i’m eating (restaurant or made by someone else). i need to let go of my obsessiveness and control freak ways about that for sure.

    • sloanepitman October 30, 2012 at 9:41 pm #

Completely understand this. It can be really hard to keep an O/C personality in check. It can be a great blessing if you don’t let it control you! Thanks for sharing, Jenna! I can’t wait to get to know you better through blogging!
      xoxo

Sloan, this is fantastic! I can’t wait to participate! I think this will help a lot of people. It’s a great idea!

  13. HollieisFueledByLOLZ October 31, 2012 at 10:46 am #

This is a great idea Sloane, I love it. I like how you said it would be a safe haven for people to discuss their problems/road blocks without people thinking they aren’t too dramatic. That is a huge problem with eating disorder, people don’t realize it’s not just something to feel guilty about.

  14. jessielovestorun October 31, 2012 at 1:51 pm #

Thank you so much for the shout out Sloane! Loved the video. You did such an amazing job explaining this wonderful campaign with all us girls! I just know this is going to be such an amazing way to help not only myself, but others when whatever we may be feeling <3 You are incredible hunnie.

Hi Sloane! After watching your vlog and getting to hear you talk about this amazing campaign with passion, honesty and intelligence, I cannot help but think what a remarkable young woman you are – truly, you inspire me! I’m definitely going to reflect upon some of my insecurities that I’m irrationally vulnerable or ashamed of. Looking forward to next Tuesday’s post. Have a wonderful week in the meantime :) xx
